Taking its name from the Italian word for support, the Mantenere bookcase draws its inspiration from a key element in the design philosophy of Finn Juhl.

The ‘born’ elements of the bookcase - its shelves, sides and back - are all separated from the ‘bearing’ legs. This was an approach that Finn Juhl took for some of his most famous chairs, including the 45 Chair.

Although very different in style from Finn Juhl’s iconic furniture, the Mantenere bookcase shares the same sense of visual lightness and elegance.

Each of the four legs curve in gently on their outside edges, as does the end grain on each of the shelves and top.

The Mantenere bookcase is also available as a three-quarter and a full-height bookcase. And as with all Glencairn Furniture, it can be handcrafted to your specific requirements.

Shown here in solid European oak, the Mantenere bookcase comes in a range of high-quality hardwoods including ash, mahogany and walnut.
